This is the story of the trial and conviction of a man for 10 felonies, including sexual slavery, and his sentence of from 60 to 104 years.  His wife was the chief evidence giver.  The trial capitalizes on the horrors of the crime rather than the skills of the prosecutor, who cannot understand the victim's constant use of denial.  The book centers on the use and misuse of expert witnesses by both prosecution and defense, as well as the heavy costs to both sides and ends up raising issues about the current cost of defense and who would pay for it.  The book also highlights the need for an expert witness to be fully prepared in its discussion of the expert witness who is described by the judge as a "real menace to the criminal justice system."
