This is a textbook intended for use in classes dealing with psychology and law.  The fourth edition has added some material to expand the treatment of civil issues.  It is a standard text and does a good workmanlike job of teaching about the interactions of the law and the science of psychology.  It may be quite useful for students who know little about either forensic psychology or the justice system but has limited utility for those familiar with the relationship between them.  As a text, it does provide interesting material relating to specific instances that students may know a bit about or have some interest in, i.e., the subway vigilante and self defense.
